I've always been a top performer and have never had any form of disciplinary issues so just a lot of slaps in the face along with creating a feeling that it didn't matter what I had done everyone was expendable. When the actual public portion of the merger was happening I hurt my knee. With how long all the appointments and tests took I was out about 2 1/2 weeks and in that time the pain and swelling pretty much went away. I also am a medial Marijuana patient in Illinois for legitimate reasons. The fear already caused by everything that was going on plus of possibly being drug tested I didn't go to HR with the injury. I did tell the manager above me but he I think was kind of in the same place I was being afraid the new company was trying to drop as much cap space as possible so he didn't say anything either. Fast forward to now and I have reinjured the same knee but worse and I'm in quite a bit of pain. The reinjury also happened at work just 2 days ago. My question and sorry it took so long to get here but I figured context would be needed.
