Alliance partners include companies with a collective footprint in the billions and a shared commitment to an ethical approach to digital ID. Decisions about how Alliance funds are administered, which programs to fund, and which technical standards to support are made jointly by Alliance partners through a transparent governance process, preventing dominance by any single institution or sector. Alliance Partners The Alliance, a collaborative effort of global partners, is solving for scale from day one Closing the identity gap is an enormous challenge. It will take the work of many committed people and organizations coming together across different geographies, sectors and technologies. But it's exciting to imagine a world where safe and secure digital identities are possible, providing everyone with an essential building block to every right and opportunity they deserve. Peggy Johnson Executive VP, Business Development, Microsoft Corporation Digital identity has the capacity to enable access to vital, life-saving services in many different development and humanitarian contexts, including by accelerating access to basic health care systems.
"The exception to that is the elevation of these purveyors of pseudoscience. People like Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, all the way back to Jenny McCarthy and the anti-vax movement, " he continued. "And it's a strange dichotomy that I think a lot of people, particularly right now, are having trouble reconciling. You know this person who has done all of this positive work for the world and yet somehow has gotten caught up in this web of junk science on many occasions. So, it's a tough thing to balance. " Two years ago, after Winfrey's galvanizing Golden Globes speech led to rampant speculation that she could challenge Trump for the presidency in 2020, MacFarlane explained why he thought that would be a terrible idea. "Oprah is beyond doubt a magnificent orator, " he tweeted at the time. "But the idea of a reality show star running against a talk show host is troublingly dystopian. We don't want to create a world where dedicated public service careers become undesirable and impractical in the face of raw celebrity. "
Schore's work…has pushed beyond the limits, unconstrained by conventional expectations, to redefine basic assumptions in mental health and dared to engage with the ever-changing world of neuroscience informing psychotherapy, in both directions. With Family Guy, American Dad, and other projects, MacFarlane has spent almost his entire career working at the Fox corporation, and making boatloads of money for the Murdoch family, which also runs Fox News. He said he maintains a "friendly" relationship with the Murdochs despite their deep political differences, adding that they have never tried to censor his shows. "They've left us alone completely. Even when our politics were aggressively liberal, " MacFarlane said. "And the same philosophy as far as I can tell applies to Fox News. " At the same time, he said he wishes the Murdochs would "take a more active role" in policing Fox News content. "If that network could get on board with a responsible attitude toward science alone, I could live with all the other shit, " he said.
No government, company or agency can solve this challenge alone. Setting the future course of digital ID and navigating the associated risks is a challenge that requires sustained collaboration and global partnership. Why the Alliance Partners Governance Explore The ID2020 Alliance is unique in its philosophy and transparent governance. ID2020 is building a new global model for the design, funding, and implementation of digital ID solutions and technologies. There is no other multi-stakeholder effort focused on user-managed, privacy-protecting, and portable digital ID. Ad-hoc investments in single use-case projects ("business as usual") will be insufficient to bring about transformative impact. Changing the flow of funds is necessary to re-align incentives. That's why Alliance partners are pooling funds to invest in programs that consider digital ID holistically, as a platform for diverse benefits, services, and use cases throughout an individual's life. Private sector engagement is critical for solving at scale.

Colwyn Trevarthen, PhD, FRSE Professor (Emeritus) of Child Psychology and Psychobiology, School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences, The University of Edinburgh In The Development of the Unconscious Mind we join Allan Schore on his intellectual journey as he weaves a scholarly narrative integrating neuroscience into his theoretical model of attachment. At the foundational base of his scholarship is the insightful assumption that modern attachment theory is functionally a theory of self-regulation with a neurobiological substrate. By citing studies across several disciplines, he brilliantly builds a compelling argument for a neurobiological base for his theoretical conceptualizations and applies these conceptualizations to several relevant clinical and developmental questions related to vulnerability, trauma, sex differences, intimacy, and autism. Stephen W. Porges, PhD Distinguished University Scientist, Kinsey Institute, Indiana University, author of The Polyvagal Theory Prepare the left side of your brain to be gobsmacked by Schore's argument for the centrality of the right side of your brain in the development not only of the self, but in loving relationships as well, and the psychopathology of both.
