This would get me licensed around the same time that I reached my federal tenure (enabling me to more easily return to federal service in the future). Once licensed, quit my current job and work in the field while working on my ADN. The advantage of this is the low cost, the main disadvantage is still needing to do my BSN later on. Do an accelerated BSN program. I think this may cost a bit more than I want to pay, but it would get me a BSN quicker. I don't think this would be feasible while still working, and would require me to work a few more years to afford. I'm not as worried about the pace of such a course with my educational and work background, and I tend to learn and work well at faster paces. Do an MS for non-RNs. This looks like it would cost less than an ABN, but also have me quitting my job first. I'd likely have to take the GRE as well. Does anyone have thoughts on each of these options? I may be completely off base with some of it, but I'm just trying to put feelers out and get an idea on where to direct my research efforts into the topic.
